this kit adopts the improved carbol fuchsin method, which refers to the standard ziehl-neelsen method recommended by who. acid-fast staining is a classic differential staining method for detecting acid-fast bacteria.

acid-fast bacteria including mycobacterium tuberculosis and mycobacterium leprae have a special lipid-rich cell wall, which makes them difficult to stain. after staining with enhanced carbol fuchsin reagent, the pigment can be firmly combined with the bacterial body and is not easy to be decolorized by acid alcohol. after decolorization and counterstaining, acid-fast bacteria remain red, while other bacteria and backgrounds are dyed blue, realizing accurate microscopic identification.

unopened original packaged reagents have a shelf life of 24 months. once opened during the valid period, please finish use within 6 months. tighten the bottle cap after each use to prevent volatilization and deterioration.

store the reagents in a well ventilated environment at 5Celsius to 30Celsius, with relative humidity not more than 80% and no corrosive gas.

take about 0.05ml of caseous, purulent or suspicious parts of sputum specimens, spread evenly on the slide to form a 10mm * 20mm oval sputum smear. air dry naturally and conduct heat fixation before staining.
