it is applied for clinical cytomorphological examination via papanicolaou staining.

cell nuclei consist of acidic substances and have strong affinity with basic dyes. in contrast, cytoplasm contains alkaline substances and tends to bind acidic dyes. based on this property, papanicolaou stain kit achieves polychromatic staining of cells. after staining, cellular structures are clearly displayed with transparent and bright cytoplasm, distinct granules and well-defined nuclear chromatin, making abnormal cells easy to identify.

papanicolaou staining can reflect morphological changes of cells under inflammatory stimulation and canceration, which is of great significance for early detection and diagnosis of lesions and tumors.

as a classic conventional staining method in clinical cytology, papanicolaou staining is widely used in gynecological screening for cervical cancer and precancerous lesions. it can also evaluate female hormone levels and detect reproductive tract pathogens such as candida and trichomonas. ea50 solution is a modified version of ea36 with similar operating procedures. generally, ea36 and ea50 are suitable for gynecological specimens, while other modified EA solutions are often used for non-gynecological specimens such as exfoliated cells from pleural and ascitic fluid.

unopened reagents have a shelf life of 2 years. ea36 solution or ea50 solution should be used within 5 months after opening for optimal performance.

store the kit in a well ventilated environment at 5 degree c to 30 degree c, with relative humidity not more than 80% and no corrosive gas.

fresh specimens should be fixed with 95% ethanol immediately after smear preparation to avoid cellular deformation.
