cell nuclei are composed of acidic substances and have strong affinity with the basic dye hematoxylin. cytoplasm contains alkaline substances and binds well with the acidic dye eosin. after staining, cell nuclei are stained bright blue-purple, cytoplasm, muscle fibers and collagen fibers show varying shades of red, and red blood cells appear orange-red.

unopened reagents in original package have a shelf life of 2 years. opened reagents within the valid period should be used up within 6 months. tightly close the bottle cap after each use to prevent volatilization and deterioration.

store the reagents away from light in a well ventilated environment at 5 degree c to 25 degree c, with relative humidity not more than 80% and no corrosive gas.

smears and sections must be fully fixed, and paraffin sections need complete dewaxing treatment.
